Frequently Asked Questions

Q. My child has never played football before. Can they still attend a course?
A. Yes. The courses are designed for players of all abilities and experience. A number of children on each course have never played football before and we are experienced with developing and bring out the best in these children.

Q. What equipment does my child need?
A. Your child does not need any specialist equipment. With all courses, we supply the footballs, goals, bibs and any other equipment that is needed. We use Samba goals or similar, of a size recommended by the Football Association for the age of children on the courses we run.

Q. What kit does my child need?
A. Your child does not require any specialist kit. We do ask that your child wear suitable clothing for exercise and also wears trainers. If your child is on one of our courses that are held outdoors, we ask that they wear clothing appropriate to the weather conditions if, for example, it is wet and/or cold. Studded football boots are recommended, but not required, for soft and muddy pitches as the extra grip will help them maintain their balance and avoid any undue injuries. Equally, when the ground is hard (during the summer months) we would recommend that your child does not wear studded football boots.  Trainers must be worn inside so we advise children to bring trainers for indoor use even if a course is held outside as we may use indoor facilites in the event of very bad weather.
Also, remember plenty of drinks, sun cream for when the weather is warm, and a packed lunch for fun week courses.
Lunch is usually held between 12.15pm-1pm on our fun weeks with indoor facilities provided.

Q. My local course has already started. Does my child have to wait until the start of the next course?
A. No. Although our courses are run to coincide with a school term, and normally run for 10 to 12 weeks, your child is welcome to join at any time during the course, with the exception of the last session of each course as this is our award presentation.

Q. Is this only for boys?
A. No. Football is for all children and all of our courses welcome both girls and boys.

Q. What happens if my child is not as good as some of the other players?
A. We recognise that all children have differing abilities and skills in sport and we run all-inclusive courses. All children are catered for and we work hard to ensure that all children are given every chance to develop. We will never class a child as not good enough and we will never ask them to stop attending because of this reason. Soccer is not just for star players!

Q. My child is nearly four, can he/she attend?
A. We are only able to take children who are in reception year at school. This means only children aged 4 or 5 and in their first year of school are eligible.

Q. Are there any trophies at the end of the course?
A. The last week of every course is our award ceremony (Covid regulations permitting). There are trophies for all of the competitions we have run over the duration of the course, as well as other individual trophies e.g. a goalkeeping award. However, all children are guaranteed to receive at least one trophy and certificate.

Q. How much does a course cost?
A. Each standard course costs £78.00 = 12 week course and will run for the length of a school term, usually 10-12 weeks with a break for half-term. For ease of administration, and to ensure the children get the maximum time available to play football, two payments of £39 are made every 6 weeks and can be paid by either cash or by online banking. Further siblings are charged at a reduced rate of £30 payable every 6 weeks.  Fun Weeks are different to this. Please click on the link at the top of this page to check the location and cost of your local Fun Week. Once a course has started and your child has participated in a session we cannot offer any refunds.

Q. How do I book my child a place on a course?
A. Simply click on the the tabs above - The Fun Weeks can be booked and paid for online. For the Weekly Courses please register your child online and payment is taken on the first session of each term.

Q. My Child has a disability/medical condition or diagnosis can they still attend a football course?
A. We believe all children have the right to enjoy and play football. We have experience of children attending our courses with learning difficulties and physical disabilities. If children have additional needs such as the administering of medication, or medical requirements which coaches are not qualified to meet then parents/carers will be asked to stay in attendance. We ask parents/carers to contact us so we can ensure we are able to meet the needs of the child and those already attending our courses.

Q. Is there a cancellation policy?
A. All our fun weeks have a 48-hour cancellation clause where monies paid for fun weeks are non-refundable after this point. This is because we finalise our coaches, helper staff and equipment in the final week prior to a course starting, so all children booked on are catered for.
Payments for our term time courses are non-refundable once your child has commenced their sessions on their chosen course.
